Watched "Death In Gaza" few days back. Its a documentary about a western film maker James Miller who was killed by Israelis in Rafah.
Rafah is in the southern Gaza strip (Palestine) and bordering Egypt, so there is loads of arms being smuggled into Palestine for the Hizbullah militia who are fighting against the Israelis. The Palestinian government doesn't stop Hizbullah as they are fighting the gorilla war against Israeli army. Palestinian government thinks its a war against oppression and imperialistic US and Israel.
Initially the documentary was to be made keeping in mind the kids of Palestine. What they want to do today? Why the kids are ready to die today for the country? Why do they all want to become martyrs? Why they think being a martyr is more than anything today? How the kids help Hizbullah in the gorilla war? But the movie ends when James Miller is shot by a Israeli bullet (not by accident I say).
Its a very thought provoking and a very sad movie.
The movie shows how Israeli army tries to flush out the militants from the hideouts and during the shootings kids are killed. Focuses on how mothers are crying in front of their 10 year sons to not talk about being martyrs. Focuses on how kids play games keeping in mind that the Israelis are bastards and they should be killed.
I always had a soft corner for Israel because they have been struggling since dark ages. But after this movie I think Israelis are getting a treat of the fruit of hatred they are growing in small towns of Gaza. Don't know - cant say, but Israel is an imperialistic country which is trying to bring pain to the next generation of kids in Palestine.

Virdi,
I've seen this movie too...
interestingly there are too many movies on these issues and about hallocast... it is tough to take sides after seeing these movies, coz all of them are well made and the makers kinda convice us thier biased feeling....
i might be wrong... but i feel so!
Agre virdi....
"Why didnt US attack Israel, when the Israeli forces went into Lebanon?? Why doesnt US say Israel is a terrorist nation when its army is roaming on the streets of Palestine and killing kids?? Why doesnt any western nation say anything to Israel?? Just because the Jews were tortured, they can torture others now?? " - Quoting from your words..
If you get a chance watch the movie 'The 11th Commandment'. You will probably understand how Jews have grown up in a world of Hatred being hounded by Arabs.
I personally feel its a big feat that inspite of being surrounded by Moslem nations Israel has still managed to hold on its own and has done significant technological development.
Israel and US have been partners even in the defence sector. Israel has allowed USA to have a base in west asia and frmo there control some more powerful zones in the middle east way back from the Cold War era. Henry Kissenger, the then US president is basically a Jew at heart and personally still would consider Israel as his homeland for obvious reasons. They also have tie ups for Arms exchange and development.
With this arrangement we shouldnt expect that USA would do anything against Israel. Plus after the 9/11 attacks Palestine celebrated and bands roamed streets of Gaza singing and dancing.. and they burst crackers. If killing children is a SIN..flying plans full of people into a building full of unsuspecting innocent civilians is no great act either and definitely does not call for celebrations.
I guess unless and until Palestinians realise that their concentration should now be on their individual development as a nation and tie up with fellow arabs for survival rather than try to hound public sympathy.
Again as i said this is my personal opinions. But had the Journalist been on Israel's side..they would have made sure that no one would have harmed him.
Incidentally after erstwhile USSR, Israel is the only country which says - Crash the aircraft but dont let Hijackers take over. Now isnt that the highest level of valour.
Just came across this site....which allows to download video's from YouTube on ipod...check it out..

Quoting sm stuff frm ur reply -
"There is a difference... The terrorists from Israel wear the dress of soldiers... "
Completely agree with you on that. It seems as if the Law has given them the right to carry out mass massacare.
"I belive Isreal is nothing if it didnt have US backing... "
Completely agree with you on that too. Kehte hain na hindi mein - kisi aur ke bal boote pe ucchal rahein hain...The same way as probably some extremists flourish in our country under the aegis of one of our neighbours..
"God knows what is Bush doing... Horrible president I say... Infact the worst president ever... "
U bet..Clinton may have been whatever he had been but at least he didnt thrust his own ppl into the jaws of death just cos he heard voices in his head....
"you can get enlightended on kids are dying in Middle East and Iraq... "
Kids dying anywhere is a Bad thing..they are too damn innocent to be even pulled into such things...
Am still contemplating on starting a Blog..have read a few nice ones like yours..most of the others are personal musings rather than any information..will mail u once i get cracking on that ...
cheers
Girish..
Oops..And Sorry for not leaving a name behind last time...

Am kinda scared of words like Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Abu Dhabi, Qatar, Mackaral and Saloman fish....dunno why....but I always see face of terror and a man in masked face comes to ma mind :O
:)
anyway...that was a nice review on the movie....am looking forward for this hindi movie with Arshad Varsi...Road to Afghan or something...
Cheers!!
Recently I saw a documentary on war reporters on BBC.A reporter who covered lebnon bombings was interviewwd. He showed the footage of 10 year old girl who had come to beach with his family. All the people of his family died and that little girl was crying helplessly on bleeding deadbody of his father....Obviously kids like this who have lost their family for no reason will grow up and join the jihadi group to take revenge.
What is more trouble some is the consolidation of the terrorists around the world and different idealogies. All terrorists now function in an organised manner right from Chechnya,Saudi Arabia,Iraq,Pakistan etc.
Israel and USA are in a pickle now.
