Well I was just thinking what I have been called by others in my life and thought wow man that deserves a post. At home there is some tradition that no one calls others by nick so if the name is Bhavdeep it will be Bhavdeep and not Happy. (like in most of the Punjabi families)
Anyways in school I was called
- Surdar
- Cabbage (because of the hair on my head and I wore a small turban, called patka and kids used to say I will peal your cabbage)
- Onion
- Chote (I am short)
Enginering:
- Oye
- Virdi (thats my last name)
- Bauna (dwarf)
- Bauna Shaitan
- Thingu
- Nanha Shaitan
- Baache
- Chi Chi (thats for the smallest finger in the hand in Punjabi)
- Chiki guy (I love chicken lots and used to go out to eat chicken on " dad's hard earned money" around 3 or 4 times a week)
MBA
- Surdar
- Chachu (given by someone from IIT Delhi. I was sporting a beard and looked like a Muslim chachajaan)
- Kashmiri Militant (because of the stupid beard again)
What some others call me
- Surdar
- Tummy man ( I am becoming little fat types)
- Bean Bag (same reason)
Thats all I remember but the worst nickname someone ever had was the General Secy from IIT his name was Gandharva and people used to call him G*ndu. Phew.
I have started playing hockey and my everything is aching really bad.
