Deewar is one of the best Hindi movies I have ever seen. Not because of the dialog "mere paas maa hai" but for other reasons. Attitude of Amitabh Bachchan. He is awesome.
In the scene above he is asked to join the gang of Dabar Saab, because he beats the shit out of "Saamant Ke Aadmi". Dabur Saab says, "Vijay mujhe tumhari zaroorat hai aur main tumhari koi bhi zaroorat poori karne ke liye atiyaar hoon" and throws bunch of notes on the table, "Vijay aaaj tumhara pehla din hai yeh lo!!"
Vijay : " dabar saab aapko yaad hai, aap bahut sal pehle ghore ke race khelne jaya karthe the, aur ek jegah ruk kar aapne jute polish karwaya karte the? Main aaj bhi feke hue paise nahi uthata"
And very unlike anyother hindi movie of that time, Amitabh Bachchan doesnt sing songs around trees; he is angry young man and angry men don't sing songs!!
Just for your information Shashi Kapoor won the best actor award (FilmFare)for this movie and not Bachchan Saab.
