Rang De Basanti

Saw Rang De Basanti on Friday night. The movie is phenomenal. Now there are few movies which hit you so hard that after watching the movie you shut your mouth and think "What am I doing?" This is one of them.

Movie is about few friends from Delhi University who have no aim in life, are real happy and masti marofy, no pain to anyone and just chill attitude. There is this girl who comes from UK to make a movie on Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, Sukhdev, Chandrashekhar Aazad and Ram Prasad Bismill. Because of low funds she hires them and tries to fit them in the Freedom Fighter's shoes. But the group is not able to relate to what the Freedom Fighters had done till something happens to one of their friends. This changes their lives completely. They now want to stand for a cause and fight for thier friend's lost image and identity. Doing this they also ask the nation's youth to question themselves as to what they are doing. I guess thats the mesage of the movie. They say "kuch dhamaka hona chahiye, tabhi log samjhenge aur jagenge" and they do the dhamaka and the nation awakens.

Aamir is DJ (Daljit Singh) and a Delhi University passout but still stays in the campus because he says "University ke gate ke is taraf DJ ki koi aukaat hai, DJ ko koi pehchanta hai. Gate ke us taraf koi aukaat nahi. University ke gate ke is taraf life ko hum chalate hain aur gate ke us taraf, life hum ko chalati hai" Sali kya baat boli hai DJ, tu cha gaya yaar!!! Ekdum god level baat. May be thats the reason I keep going back to IIT as much as I can. Who knows. Pata nahi.

Its full of fun in the first half and lots of gyan in second half.

In one of the scenes Aamir comes back from hospital after shocking incidents happen to him and his friends. He tries to eat food and the roti doesnt go below his throat. Phenomenal acting by Aamir Khan. I guess thats why he is where he is. Brilliant actor!!!

Soha Ali (Sonia) has done a great role too. Doesnt look like a new comer. Very comfortable and very matured as an actor, with that Sharmila Tagore look.

Excellent roles by Kunal Kapoor (Aslam), Sharman Joshi (Sukhi), Atul Kulkarni (Laxman Pandey), Madhavan (Ft. Lt. Ajay), Waheeda Rehman (Ajay's Mom), Anupam Kher (big shot businessman), Om Puri (Aslam's Father) and Kiron Kher (DJ's mom) but the surprise was Siddharth (Karan). Magnificent performance by him. In one of the scenes he gives a 500 rupee note to some arbit guy, his friend asks him why did he give the money, in reply he says "Baap ka paisa hai, pada pada saad jaata." Ha Ha Ha, saala kameena. Doesnt talk much, speaks through his eyes. Gave a slight touch of Ajay Devgun. Was great!!!

Alice Patten was great as Sue. Looks very pretty and very humble. RDB is not like other Hindi movies showing most of the "gori chamdi" as "kutta kameenas". She looked very sweet with that broad smile. :-) And also lots of colors of Punjab and north India thrown in, with excellent music. A movie everyone should watch.

Gurcharan Das gave lecture on psychology and was relating it to Mahabharata. Was giving major funde on Dharam, Karma. It was good but too much for me I would say.

The "Ravi Tea Stall". We used to sit here for hours and hours and hours after dinner and used to discuss the future of India. :-)

Underwear & Life Partner

I was talking to one of my friends and came to a great conclusion. Never allow anyone else to choose your underwear and life partner. Reasons:

• You must know the quality yourself.
• You must be comfortable with it/him/her.
• Its bloody your decision what you want.
• Both can make you itchy in public.
• Both can make you spend more than the initial amount you have spent.
• Its important you choose them because they hug you all the time.
• Both need not be very colorful but you have to be with them all the time.

If anyone wants to put more reasons please feel free. :-)

• Trupster said: u can always date girls (one at a time okay) b4 u actually make one of them ur life partner, but u cant try out an underwear b4 u buy it!!!
• Trupster said: this theory of yours, i dunno if it applies to girls... girls have many different styles in underwear; and they can buy as many as they want, cuz each depends on what they r wearing :) but life partner for a girl, is only one :)

Tag of all Tags - Part 2

The life partner tag

Praveen tagged me, about the eight different points I would love to have in my life partner. Now, let me see. First she should be a GIRL!!!

• She should love me. I can never be with someone who doesn't love me. Ok I love her but if she doesn't love me then we both wont be happy and then there will be hazar problems. It is very important that love exists between two partners before anything happens.
• She should be intelligent. I cant cant cant tolerate dumbness. Stupidity is fine, sometime you do some stupid things and we can laugh over it few years later but dumbness is yukkkkkkkkkks. I say a Santa Banta jokes and she says "Hello ji, suno ji. Yeh joke tha???" I would take a brick and hit, no not her but my head.
• She should respect me. Love and respect come with each other. I would always respect my girl for what she is and would expect the same from her. Respect is very important. She should respect me for my work, for my driving, for my choice of clothes, for my pony tail, etc etc. hehehehe. Ok exaggeration but she should basically respect me for what I am, thats all.
• She should be my strength. If I am down and want to talk to her she should always be "Bhavdeep don't worry" and her one look should calm me down. I know there is a lot of love involved in this but I guess she just being around me should calm me down even if I am having the worst day of my life.
• She should be my faith. Like I can look up to her. If someone says "Bhavdeep whom would you like to born as in your next life?" I should at once say without second thought,"My wife. She is the one I would like to be born as." She should have everything what I lack and should make me a complete person. Not like Raymond's Complete man since 1925 though ;-)
• I should be able to trust her without even a second thought. If I can't trust her, I can't love her or respect her. Trusting her should come from inside and that will come when we both are madly in love with each other. Love is again the the the thing I look in her.
• She should be a great cook or else find a great cook or find a great restaurant where we can have good food every night :-) Naaah. Cooking and all doesnt matter. I just want to have food with her every night. Thats all.
• She should love Movies. Sholay, Andaaz Aapna Aapna, Lakshaya, Swades, Lagaan, Matrix and Lord of the Rings Triology, Harry Potter Series, Spiderman series, etc etc. she should have copies of all these movies. :-) She should love bhangra music (But hate Daler Mehendi) and should know how to do Gidda and Bhangra. (Virdi thinking: Kya Bakwas kar raha hai sardar, do you ever want a girl in your life??)
• And and and if she is awesome in bed it is an added advantage. Ahem Ahem Ahem. See I am not lying or hiding any of my feelings. ;-)

The last three are just fillers. :-)

Dinner Tag

Have been tagged Thanu, few months back. I have to list 6 people who I would like to take out for dinner and why. Firstly I would not like to go out with any guy. Sorry guys. Enough of guys and this that. Now its time I concentrate only on gurls. ;-)

• ROS: She is nice and she helped me with the EEG and brain scan reports. So complementary dinner.
• Sayesha: Hmmmm. I said stupid things to her few weeks back. So have to again pataofy her and say sorry worry and all that. So complementary dinner.
• Sneha: Oh I put her photo on my blog and she got angry because of some of my dear naughty stupid friends were doing natak and were pestering her. So got to say her also sorry worry and all that. So dinner for her.
• Roopa: Guujju babe has got awesome taste of food and she is very very pretty. :-) How can I miss pretty girls on my list??? Ahem ahem ahem. Roopa ko khaana toh khilana hi padega. :-)
• Princess: Hmmm she is really different and after food when we sit around the table she can just tell her one of her favourite poems and we can just listen to them, shanti se. She writes awesome awesome poems. So Princess ko khana khilana hi padega. :-)
• Thanu: Now she asked me out for dinner so I have to ask her. :-)

I just saw that half of the girls are being called because I have to say sorry to them. What a life. Sad life. Worsht life. "Pehle pain deta hai, then dinner deta hai. Sala pakka sardar hai."

Not tagging anyone. But if anyone has done this just let me know. Just want to see what others have written or done.

How to take a perfect catch!!!

Dear everyone. Thanks for all the good wishes :-) Mom is perfect. Just that there is a little weakness. Either she gossips with my Naani all day or else she sleeps. The pills are pretty strong I guess.

Special thanks to Fao and ROS. Fao took care of my chota cousin Deepu. ROS looked at the EEG and brain scan reports. The reports were pefect and she suggests "rest and good food".

Me and Deepu were having fun few days back by throwing the ball on the wall and then taking a diving catch. I tried few stunts and "Yuvraj Singh - Jonty Rhodes" tricks**. Here are some of the photos. How to take a good two handed catch.

Make a full hearted attept and jump at the ball with two hands. Two handed catch is always safer than one handed catch.

Perfect Landing is very important
Holding on to the ball and then "Howazzat!!!"

I am using a dial-up connection for this post. And believe me I am using dial-up for the first time. It is awesomely slow. I mean now I know the difference between dialup and internet cable connection. Phew!!!! Worsht connection!!!
